In the shade of the alleys, vast patrician residences - built of mud bricks sheltered by their sinusoidal wall, with their domestic installations and sometimes their own small garden - intermingle with more modest houses built of stone, or even pottery workshops, bakeries. A large garden or vegetable garden occupies the center of the village.
