Quickly, his mastery of technique and his aesthetic sense established him as a renowned portraitist, where all of Bamako flocked: people came to be photographed alone, with their families, or in groups. Placing his models in front of patterned fabrics, Seydou Keïta worked on the staging of his shots: adjusting the poses - full-length or three-quarter -, lending jewelry or accessories for the occasion, Keïta sought to give the most beautiful image of his clients.
